Serious practitioners who desire to support the promulgation of Soo Bahk Do® beyond their personal rank advancement can become Certified Instructors and provide instruction to the public by applying for a commercial license as a Certified School.
Typically, the goals of Certified School Owners differ from those of Certified Teaching Program Leaders (CTP).
A Certified School license allows the holder to commercialize Soo Bahk Do® instruction in their market area.

US Federation membership includes Gup rank certification credentials when students pass an examination conducted by their instructor and are recommended by their instructor for rank certification.
In the USA, Moo Duk Kwan® rank certification is only available to students of certified instructors with membership in good standing in the United States Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation®.
Students may apply for Official Moo Duk Kwan® Gup Rank certification when their Certified Instructor notifies them they are eligible to do so.

Federation Headquarters does not currently stock Moo Duk Kwan® Trimmed  traditional uniforms for gups.
Gup members can obtain color belts and uniforms through Certified Schools and Certified Teaching Program leaders.
