Any rank student can acquire a Jo Kyo Instructor Certification Study Kit at any time.

Red belt students age 10 up are eligible to test for Jo Kyo instructor certification.

Students are required to complete the 90-day apprenticeship training and meet all other requirements to be eligible to take the exam. 

A monthly installment payment option (3 payments) is bundled with a 2nd Dan subscription on the Soo Bahk Do® Institute here.

Effective 01/01/2024 physical kits have been being phased out and are no longer shipped.

After a student has completed study kit contents, apprenticeship training, and fulfilled the time requirement, then Jo Kyo Certification exams are conducted at the school level by Certified Instructors operating Certified Schools or Teaching Programs.

They submit exam results and their recommendation to the TAC via National Member Headquarters and the TAC submits approved recommendations to the Kwan Jang Nim for issuance of Jo Kyo certification.

Officially issued credentials are delivered to the applicant's recommending instructor for ceremonial presentation.

    3rd Dan KDJSS candidates, 4th Dan and up students who are age 21 up and who are NOT Kyo Sa Certified are eligible to test for Kyo Bom.
