- There is no fee as of 2023 to download the electronic version of the Kyo Bom Instructor Certification Study Kit.
All students who are NOT Kyo Sa Certified and who are planning to apply for Ko Dan Ja rank in the future are required to download and complete the Kyo Bom Certification Study Kit at least one year in advance of a targeted Ko Dan Ja Shim Sa.
Or non Kyo Sa certified students may optionally choose to acquire and complete a Kyo Sa Instructor Certification Study Kit or a Sa Bom Instructor Certification Study Kit and fulfill those apprenticeship time requirements before applying for Ko Dan Ja rank.
Students who are NOT Kyo Sa or Sa Bom Certified when applying for Ko Dan Ja Rank, will incur a higher examination fee.
After a Kyo Bom applicant has completed the study kit contents, apprenticeship training, and fulfilled the time requirement, then the Kyo Bom exam is conducted by appointed Technical Advisory Committee members at an annual Ko Dan Ja Shim Sa.
Candidates successfully completing the exam, exit the Ko Dan Ja Shim Sa with the HONORARY title of Kyo Bom.
No certificate is issued.
Members who have earned the HONORARY title of Kyo Bom may convert it to CERTIFIED Instructor status and receive a Kyo Bom Certificate, rockers tabs and official record of certification on their member record by:
- Activating a Background Check and Continuing Education Subscription on the Soo Bahk Do Institute
- Acquiring a Kyo Bom Instructor Certification Accreditation Kit
Officially issued Kyo Bom accreditation credentials are delivered to the applicant’s recommending instructor for ceremonial presentation.
