Renewing Members

UPDATING YOUR CREDIT CARD ON FILE

If you have an active membership that autorenews and you have received a notification from PayPal about your credit card needing to be updated, you will need to activate a new account on the new Member Portal (instructions below) and add your preferred card in the new account. Going forward you will be able to manage your payment methods and much more in My Account on the new Member Portal. The legacy payment system is being phased out.

 
CURRENT MEMBERS / RENEWING MEMBERS

If you have an active membership with paid membership time remaining before expiration, you need to:
  1. Create your account on the Member Portal. 
    1. However, if you have an account on the Soo Bahk Do Institute,  then those credentials will log you into your account on the Member Portal and all Federation sites.
  2. log into the Member Portal
  3. complete a student profile
  4. select a membership
  5. checkout on the Member Portal
After your membership is activated on the Member Portal, you will automatically receive a prorated refund or a membership extension. Autorenewals on the legacy payment system will be cancelled and you will receive a notification from PayPal confirming cancellation.

 

Your membership will be managed through the Member Portal from that point forward. You can manage payment methods, print your membership card, add students to a household membership and more.

 
SCHOOL VERIFICATION

When completing your student profile on the Member Portal for the 1st time, you will be asked to enter the student’s personal GUP  ID and/or Dan ID for verification.

 

When ID verification has been completed by staff, an email notification is sent to you and the instructor of your school so they are aware of your membership status.

 

On the student profile you will also need to select the certified school where you train. If your school is not included in the drop down selector of certified schools, then you can manually enter the school name and Instructor’s name.

 

NOTE: Your membership card will not print until your ID is verified and your school is added to the drop down selector.

 

When verifications are completed you can print your membership card.

 
EXPIRED MEMBERS

If your membership has already expired you may owe a reinstatement fee and prorated membership dues to cover any lapse in your membership to prevent a membership gap that could result in a delay for eligibility for a future rank test.

You will be advised if any amount is due after you have activated your membership through the Member Portal as explained above.
